The WABO Plumbing Design & Installation self-paced course is based on the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), as well as portions of the 2021 Model Codes. Each self-guided module consists of explanations, examples, and knowledge checks. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and 0.8 International Code Council (ICC) Continuing Education Units (CEU's).

Target Audience: Code Officials, Inspectors, and Plan Reviewers of all levels of expertise.

NOTE: This course is not intended for International Code Council (ICC), International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), or Washington State Plumber certifications.

Course Registration and Start Dates

Registration: Continuous

Winter Quarter: January 2, 2025 - March 31, 2025
Spring Quarter: April 1, 2025 - June 30, 2025
Summer Quarter: July 1, 2025 - September 30, 2025
Fall Quarter: October 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025

Participants may register anytime throughout the year and will enter the course when the next quarter begins.

Referenced Course Material

It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they have access to the referenced material prior to the beginning of the course. Many of the referenced books may be purchased from the WABO Bookstore, free limited access through in-course links, or any other third-party reseller.

Although the IPC is not adopted by the State of Washington, the International Plumbing Code is a recommended publication that Code Officials, Inspectors, and Plan Reviewers may benefit from, especially regarding circuit venting and horizontal wet venting for bathroom groups. These venting provisions that are now included in the UPC have long been recognized in the IPC and will be referenced throughout the course.
