PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Permit Technicians are the public’s first point of contact in areas that issue building permits. They review documents like plans and blueprints to ensure they meet building codes and provide guidance to applicants by explaining requirements and answering questions. Their duties include processing applications, supporting building inspectors, and handling data entry. Strong communication, data entry skills, and attention to detail are essential for this role.

  • Students must be at least 18 years of age upon registration.
  • Students must possess a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma upon registration.
